Mayak Eggs (Korean Marinated Eggs)

Ingredients

  • 6 eggs

  • 1/2 cup soy sauce

  • 1/2 cup water

  • 1/4 cup honey or your choice of liquid sweetener

  • 1 green onion diced

  • 3 cloves garlic minced

  • 2 bird’s eye chili pepper diced

  • 1 tbsp toasted sesame seeds

Directions

  • Boil water, then gently add eggs and boil over medium heat for 6 minutes.

  • Combine soy sauce, water, honey, green onion, garlic, chilis and sesame seed while eggs are boiling.

  • Once eggs are cooked, immediately remove from boiling water and place in an ice bath to cool.

  • Once cooled, peel eggs and place in marinade for at least 6 hours before serving.
